‘Trash Returns to Home’ Project was developed by the first years students as a part of the course ‘Basic Design 2’ at the Department of Industrial Design, Yaşar University, during the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2013-2014.
The aim of this project is to underline the solid waste problem increasing worldwide in recent years and the possibilities of the re-evaluation of solid waste through their reuses. As a part of this project, waste materials, such as pet bottle, cardboard and tin, were utilised to design conceptual lighting products that need to be energy efficient and are used for interior and outdoor environments. The project seeks to increase awareness of the individuals and the society regarding the potential of the solid waste for reuses to develop functional products that can meet the needs of our daily life activities; as well, it invites viewers to contribute to reducing environmental pollution.
