As a part of the 2. Istanbul Design Biennial to be held between November 1 – December 14, 2014, Maltepe University, Faculty of Architecture and Design is hosting a series of workshops under the title of “DÖN BUG”. The title references the series of workshops titled “Imperfections in Cognition and in Practice” held as a part of the Istanbul Design Biennial in 2012
The workshops will be held under Biennial’s main theme “ The Future is not What It Used To Be” with a special focus on subject of “UTOPIA”. As the reality of Turkey changes nothing is really what it used to be; in relation with the agenda of the country, the workshop aims to reevaluate the political and social changes that are taking shape in the past two years.
“DÖN BUG” intends to facilitate alternative manifestos of urbanism that are impossible or hard to realize. As an outcome the series of workshops desire to cover dicussions on political and social order, ideal social order and the spatial search of this order and the struggles in pursuit of these dreams.
