As already known, sub-culture and upper culture structuring in our world where everything is quickly consumed, and in mega cities which therefore expand as quickly, brought about chaotic living areas.

The example of Istanbul has a unique identity among the other metropols due to its historical layers. For this reason, under the undeniable reality of Istanbul’s historical identity, a questioning approach is discussed on whether the silhouette of the city can be preserved.

The New World hosts projects which question the understanding of environmental order that is directed by structuring of expanding cities’ residence areas and also by sociological layers. In addition, projects were formed over the matters of sculptural urban furniture designs reflecting the identity of urban residence areas at the point of aesthetical installation and providing visual coherence.

Examined projects include urban furniture design suggestions wherein it is aimed to form constructive design suggestions in terms of functional and aesthetical coherence in terms of environmental order, for the living areas which have also been subjected to the agenda of sustainability.

In the exhibition, the projects approached within framework of the design suggestions contact the city’s environmental textures, meanwhile being presented as “solution offers in urban furniture design” on the basis of social stratification.
