Game is an experimental process. Games are designed and described by certain rules and criteria. These rules, aims, possibilities, experiences, opportunities, practices are all become an entrance to a new reality and define this virtual world. Young people enter this world and live in a new time-space experience on screen.
Over Game Project is a research suggesting to observe youth approach to the future through these common virtual games. The target group includes teenagers between age 12 to 14. Teenagers in this group are capable to design their own world around and they use virtual games beside music, sports and events offline.
In this project the target group is selected from a private collage secondary school. These 12-14 years old students including both male and female are selected from a wide range of students considering the most interested ones on virtual games. These students’ approaches are observed through a questionnaire on 30 people of them. Additionally records of the games are collected to observe the senses, thoughts and habits of these students. The records include videos of the games, videos and photographs of the students playing the game in a workshop at school and pictures they have made.
As final products for the Istanbul Design Biannual are proposed to be a video work and photograph exhibition of the workshop.
