Tunalı Hilmi Street, one of the busiest streets in Ankara, is used by many people every day for personal activities, such as entertainment, recreation and business. With the aim to create a livelier urban streetscape and life, this project should reconsider Tunalı Hilmi by intensifying and revitalizing spatial components to achieve a target ‘destination’, to be experienced and enjoyed by the urban traveler. Your design intervention should not be limited to street furniture, sidewalk planting material, or lighting design, but rather be an active element of the street and explore the engagement of all the senses. Moreover, the design should encourage collective gathering and foster street engagement for those who live and work in or visit the street. Your proposal should consider and incorporate ideas of recycling, reuse and sustainability.
