The project focused on Ankara İskitler, a former indıstrial site undergoing profound and rapid transformation, offering an ideal ooportunity to work on making the site more sustainable, while acknowledging its industrial, encompassed the economic, social, cultural and environmental dimensions that give a particular place its identity and character. An international exhibition centre with the theme of ‘Innovative and Ssutainable Future’, Ankara Expo Centre21 epitomizes the transformation of an importanturban area with respect for environmental and social concerns. Sustainability starts with the selection of building materials, prioritizing local resources. Future building reuse potential was also a key concern. The project includes permanent and temporary exhibition spaces, conference halls , a museum and a library, both concentrating on sustainable high-rise office block (innovative and sustainable in structure and layout) is also a key element. Built areas constitute around 1/3 of the total site and 2/3 is reserved for green or blue (water) space.
